    Champion Athletes of the Ozarks

Today we volunteered at Champion Athletes bowling tournament. We were in charge of presenting the awards to teams after they had finished their matches. It was a lot of fun to see how happy and accomplished the athletes were when receiving their medals.

    Makin' Blankets (ft. Moana)

I attended the Makin' Blankets event held by Drury Volunteer Corps. I really enjoyed making the blankets and it was even better knowing they were going to Newborns in Need.

We attended one of the bowling session held by Champion Athletes. It was really fun to engage with the athletes & see the enjoyment they gained from bowling. They are hosting their final tournament next weekend, which we are also planning on attending.

We stayed for both literacy sessions tonight. We may try and do this more often, as there are a lot more students in the second class. It was fun to see new faces and meet other students involved in the program.

Today we started content for the literacy class. We spent the class looking through grocery catalogues and identifying where you would locate particular items in the grocery store. It was a lot of fun, as the students were engaged and seemed excited to participate.

I attended Champion Athletes first literature class of the year. Every Monday night there is a literacy class at 6, followed by a numeracy class at 7. This was an introductory session, but I will continue to attend each week and help students understand content and keep focused on their work.
