I had the 2019 Transfer orientation group from Drury University here and even though it was really hot, we got 309 boxes packed!
I was fortunate to return to Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge in Hardin County, Tennessee as a trip leader. We were able to not only work with the dogs, but we also visited Memphis and Nashville as to explore the state. We had a positive affect on the dogs and the workers at Horse Creek and I am so glad I was able to take part of this opportunity!!
I still have the “Your Welcome” song stuck in my head. :(
We made food for several families and got to know each other. I really enjoyed it!!
I was able to spend a week working on Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge in Hardin County, Tennessee on 2,000 acres of land where I was able to work alongside fellow Drury students and staff members at Horse Creek. I got to take care of dogs and explore the local area, and even was able to take a trip to Nashville. The dogs were amazing and the people were friendly, I hope to be able to do this again.
While the weather was a bit rainy and cold, the warm attitudes and happy smiles kept me going while working this event. I’m really happy I got to attend this event and I gained knowledge in teamwork from it!
