This was for the Panther Run and we had a great experience!
I was part of the Matthew 25 group, and we cheered on runners for the Panther Run.
During the Panther Run, our group consisting of Matthew 25 and Alpha Lambda Delta students were involved in cheering on the runners at our designated cheering station (at the intersection of W Commercial St and N Missouri Ave), as well as leading runners in the direct location when necessary. We received positive feedback from a majority of the runners participating in the 10K and the 15K (our designated sections), who were glad to see groups of Drury students and other volunteers from the area cheering them on and supporting them. I personally felt that through cheering on the runners, I was able to connect with people from all walks of life and give them enough support and encouragement to finish the race, and most importantly, give back to a cause that will help local children.
Got to cheer on the Panther Run participants!
Threw the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield a back to school party. Set up and cleaned up afterwards.
The Matthew 25 Project catered to the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield by having them into the Hoblit Suite and serving pizza and cupcakes. We played games, made bracelets, and talked to the kids. Overall, it was a great time!
I worked in the Learning Center playing a coloring game. I enjoyed talking with the kids.
Threw a St. Patrick's Day party for the Boys and Girls Club and I particularly was in charge of teaching them a drawing a leprechaun game.
We volunteered at the Boys and Girls club and put on a Saint Patricks Day "carnival" for the kids!
Helped with ticket sales
This was so much fun!
The Boys & Girls club came to hang out with us at Drury! We ate dinner, played bingo and yard games, and make crafts! Loved having an evening to be a role model for kids in our community.
Last Wednesday the Boys and Girls Club came to spend an evening with us. We met in the Hobblit Suite. We talked with the kids, getting to know their interests. Then we fed them dinner and played games. We played several rounds of bingo with lots of cool prizes, yard games like ring toss, and made bracelets/necklaces at a craft table. After just a short period of time the kids were hugging us and saying "I love you". It was very cool to see how just a little quality time can positively impact someones day, mine included.
