Arc of the Ozarks

Aaron Otto

It was a fun time to help get to know my classmates better. The works wasn’t too hard but it was worth coming out.

It was nice to learn about everything the Arc does for disabled individuals in the Ozarks. We helped clean the windows of their building and clean up their property.

I volunteered at Arc of the Ozarks youth recreation program on a Saturday from 10-3. We went to the Miracle League Baseball Field to play baseball and play on the playground. After that, the children ate lunch and participated in recreation activities such as swimming, basketball and games. I spent the majority of the time doing arts and crafts and engaging in play with the young girls. It was very organized, there were several staff members that made the volunteers feel welcome and I cannot wait to go back soon for another Saturday. (Amy Blansit approved that I was allowed to complete 5 hours at the Arc and 5 hours in Zone 1).
